Waiting for The Formula That Never Comes (2024)

Lecture performance, two-channel video installation

For this Sortie de résidence, my artistic proposal delves into the fascinating contradictions of our progress oriented society.

Through on-the-go interviews, I explore the concept of "busy-ness" and leisure as a cultural phenomenon and how they find moments of solace amidst the chaos. My artistic output, which takes the form of installations, videos, and performances, contain humor, parody, and internet trends as a lens to examine these contrasting realities.

With multi-layered approaches to highlight the intergenerational shifts in how we manage daily routines, the unspoken rules of social conduct, and the power dynamics between tacit knowledge and formal instruction.

This work is expectantly a celebration of the everyday—a tribute to the beautiful mundane and the resilience of the human spirit. Through the ebb and flow of obligations and relaxation, I explore the interplay between modernity and tradition, digital technology, and timeless human experiences.

Ultimately, to spark a conversation about how we find meaning and create pockets of peace within the whirlwind of contemporary existence.
