TVRI Station is one of the leading funnels for the New Order regime. Through this particular media, the government at the time had implemented the Imagology Politics. TVRI had become the central role of information technology in shaping various imageries as part of the political activities or strategies at the time. In other words: to politicize imagery for a particular interest. The politics continued until the fall of the regime in 1998.

One of the most important issues in the television broadcasts at the time was the power of the narration read by the newscaster. Here, newscasters represented the government’s angle in perceiving the topics made into news. Both of us (Abigail and Raslene) who grew after the Reform era, are trying to play with only visual aesthetics of the TVRI news. Is the power of imagology politics may play, should the narrative voice is eliminated, and the visual imagology doesn’t take effect the way it should be. Dekadensi is not a deconstructive effort, rather it plays on the makers’ belief on the visual produced by the government-owned television.
